Beat Back Waterfall on the Border of Clarendon and Manchester
“THE WORLD IS A BOOK AND THOSE WHO DO NOT TRAVEL READ ONLY A PAGE.” ~ SAINT AUGUSTINE
Copper Hole in Georgia District is apart of the top five best places I've visited in Saint Thomas.
My travels didn't end in Saint Thomas. I ventured to the Parish of Manchester to explore Beat Back Waterfall.
My sister has been telling me about this fall for the longest while.
I took a Manchester coaster bus from downtown Kingston to the community of Spring Grove for JMD 500.00.
I told the driver I wanted a stop at Bailey's crossroad. He turned on Old Porus road. Two minutes later, I was in Spring Groove Manchester.
I was extremely happy to see my sister Asheka Francis, niece Samoya and nephew Dillon. Bryanna was not on this trip. My family in a nutshell guys.
We talk almost every day. Physically we don't spend much time together. I want this trip to be so much fun to make up for lost times.
We started our journey to Beat Back Waterfall minutes after 6:00 AM Mr.Dunkley was our tour guide.
The morning air felt amazing. The wind felt great on my cheeks. I had lots of clothes on. I was not going to take any chances with Manchester's cool air.
Mr. Dunkley is a farmer. He carried his goats to their resting spot for the day. He also fed his cow and made sure he wasn't tangled in the rope he had around his neck.
We continued through the bushes onto a train line.
I had to take some photos. We then saw our first hidden gem, a Blue Hole.
I took a few pictures and admired how blue and deep the water was. I can't believe this gem was in Manchester. Mr.Dunkley said we were actually in Clarendon.
I look at the location tag on the pictures. It said, Clarendon. I went on the details of the picture.
It said Whitfield Hill Main Street Porus P.O. I realized I was on the border of both parishes.
We left Blue Hole and continue to Beat Back waterfall. Mr. Dunkley indicated the water comes from a spring. It also feeds the Blue Hole. When there's no rainfall, the river drys up.
My niece and nephew had a blast in the water. Mr. Dunkley and my sister did too.
I was there for the pictures and to see if a waterfall was in Manchester since I was told no waterfall existed in Manchester. Also, I was tired from my trip to Saint Thomas and wanted to rest.
I had no intention of swimming because I thought the water was cold. I was wrong. The water was just right. I had a blast. You will too when you visit beat Back Waterfall. Thank me later.
