My first trip to Jamwest adventure Park
Time is free, but it’s priceless. — Harvey MacKay
Rosheena and I were searching for adventure-filled activities at low prices. We aimed to explore Jamaica on a budget.
Guztazos, a promotion and deal website became our best friend.
Well, for a short time because I became obsessed with exploring off the beaten path and Gustazoes don't have deals to these hidden destinations.
Our visit to Bob Marley Museum and Tuff Gong Studio was possible because of the deals Gustazos had.
We purchase a day pass to Jamwest on Gustazos for JMD 3,000.00 that included Safari, Mineral Spring Pool Tours, ATV and Rock Climbing.
We took a Montego Coaster Bus at Darling Street Bus Park for JMD 900.00. We got a stop at Negril Bus Park then took a taxi to Little London.
We told the taxi driver we wanted a stop at Jamwest Adventure Park but he said only private vehicle, Chartered Taxi and bikes as public Transportations goes to Jamwest.
We choose the bike because it was cheaper. We got a stop on the main road. We saw the bikers waiting for passengers.
We paid JMD 200.00 per person. We took the bikers number since they were the only source of public transportation.
We approached the cashier and showed our receipt we printed off the site then made our way to first adventure which was the ATV. There were twelve persons apart of this tour.
We put on our helmets and off we went on a six minutes trail with holes filled with muddy water and plenty of turns.
We stopped for the safari tour. Learning about different types of animals was amazing and educational. I love these kinds of adventures where I get in-depth knowledge about my home Jamaica.
After the tour, we made our way to the beach. We had a choice to take a swim before heading to the mineral spring but Rosheena and I took pictures instead. On our way to the mineral Spring Pool, the rain started to fall. The rain didn't stop me from getting into the pool.
We didn't get to do Rock Climbing because the time was against us. We got dressed and called the bikers and headed back to the bus park. The men that load the bus with passengers told us that the Westmoreland bus was on its way from Kingston so we waited but that was the biggest mistake we made.
We were at the bus park from 4:00 pm and left 8:30 pm. We got home after one AM.
We should have just taken a bus to Mandeville and another bus to Kingston but the guy made it seems as if the bus was an hour away and we were "travelling on a budget"
A lot of people wanted to go home which lead me to have an argument with a passenger over seats on the bus. I learned so many lessons on my trip to Jamwest Adventure Park. I'm glad I made them this early in my travels around the island.
