Our journey through the hills of Hanover continued, leading us to the enchanting Bayson Waterfall, a hidden oasis waiting to be explored. Unlike our previous stop at Bamboo Waterfall, this adventure came with a modest entry fee, offering a different experience and a chance to revel in the beauty of a secluded paradise.
Arriving at Byson:
As we entered the establishment surrounding Byson Waterfall, we were greeted by the sight of a bar and a restaurant, setting the stage for a unique and inviting atmosphere.
The nominal fee of 500.00JMD, unlike the free access to Bamboo Waterfall, piqued our curiosity, and we eagerly embarked on our exploration of this lesser-known gem.
Exclusive Experience:
To our surprise, the operator of Bayson was unaware of the existence of Bamboo Waterfall, leaving us with the distinct pleasure of having Bayson all to ourselves.
The mini-pool at the base of the waterfall, occupied by a few locals, became an integral part of our content creation, adding an authentic touch to our adventure.
Dancing Amidst Nature:
Immersed in the cool waters of Bayson, surrounded by the lush greenery of the Hanover hills, we danced and swam, creating memories that would forever be etched in our minds.
The diverse shades of green painted a spectacular scene, a testament to the natural beauty that adorned our surroundings.
Navigating the Hills:
As we journeyed through the hills, the breathtaking scenery became a backdrop to our reflections on the trip. The lush landscapes, coupled with the sense of uncertainty about our direction, added an element of excitement to our adventure. A stop at a tunnel look-alike offered a photo opportunity, albeit surrounded by litter, prompting us to continue our homeward journey.
Encounter with Merlene Ottey High School:
A chance encounter with Merlene Ottey High School added an unexpected highlight to our day.
Learning about the school's renowned track star, Merlene Ottey, who had earned numerous medals for Jamaica in track meets and the Olympics, added a touch of local fame to our adventure.
Dinner and Reflections:
Returning to our camp, we enjoyed a hearty meal of rice and peas with curry Barracuda fish, sharing stories and reflecting on the day's experiences.
The camaraderie fostered during our dinner set the stage for a restful night, preparing us for another day filled with the promise of new adventures in the untouched landscapes of Hanover.
Conclusion:
Bayson Waterfall became a testament to the unexpected treasures hidden in the hills of Hanover. From the exclusive experience of having it to ourselves to the spontaneous encounters with local fame, our journey continued to unfold with surprises and unforgettable moments, leaving us eager to embrace whatever the next day in Hanover had in store.
