"Get busy living or get busy dying." — Stephen King
Solo travel has always been my way of escaping the chaos of daily life. There’s something special about being alone in nature—no distractions, just the peaceful sounds of the environment. White Spring has become my sanctuary, a place where I can breathe, think, and simply exist in the moment.
White Spring has quietly become one of my favorite spots in St. Mary. There’s something magical about a hidden gem like this—tucked away from the world, full of peace, and perfect for relaxing, meditating, or creating beautiful content. Every time I visit, I fall deeper in love with its serenity.
Getting to White Spring requires a bit of effort—don’t be surprised if you find yourself traversing a challenging path or carrying your bags through thick bushes. But the reward is worth every step. I recommend visiting early in the day to catch the soft morning light and avoid crowds.
This was my third visit, and even though I had a little mishap the last time (my phone got damaged), I took it as a sign—it was time for an upgrade. A better phone meant better content for my loyal supporters who’ve been on this journey with me. So, here I was again, ready to pick up where I left off.
But before heading to White Spring, I stopped by Baptism Waterfall—our first meeting had been short-lived, as the river was brown from recent rainfall. This time, the conditions were perfect. I finally saw its full beauty. The water was clear, flowing gracefully, and calling me to make new memories. And that I did.
Baptism Waterfall had a completely different energy this time. After the rainfall, the water flowed with power, and the once brown-colored waterfall now had a deeper, clearer hue.
It was like meeting an old friend again, only this time, they were more vibrant and alive than ever.
As usual, I was hauling my bags through rough terrain—one of the "perks" of not driving. But I don’t mind. The struggle keeps me fit, and besides, nature is my gym. Every step, every climb, every drop of sweat—it all makes the experience more rewarding.
Once I arrived, I made my way through the bushes to get to the waterfalls. It’s not an easy trek, so if you decide to visit, please be careful. It’s definitely for the bold and fearless—but the reward is so worth it.
Before cooking up a colorful dish, I decided to take a few photos first. Capturing the stunning views around me was a must—each angle offered something unique, and I couldn’t resist documenting the beauty of the moment.
The first waterfall greeted me with pure beauty. I was honestly starstruck. I didn’t even know where to start taking pictures.
The towering trees allowed the sun to peek through at every opportunity, casting its light on the rocks and giving the entire place a golden glow. It was absolutely mind-blowing.
I smiled so much that my face actually ached. I savored every second by that first waterfall. Every pose and every click of the camera—over a hundred photos later, it was clear just how deeply I had fallen in love with the scene.
I eventually said my goodbyes and made my way to the second waterfall—the one where my phone had met its watery end.
But I wasn’t bothered; it was my own carelessness, and the present moment was too beautiful to waste on regrets.
I found a cozy rock nearby and lay down, reflecting on how fortunate I was to be living in paradise.
After my peaceful moment with waterfall number two, I climbed a slippery path, gripping the same tree my phone had fallen from, and made my way to waterfall number three, where I was ready to chef up a storm.
This spot was yet another uniquely beautiful place to unwind and prepare a delicious meal.
I captured the waterfall from every angle.
I wasn’t about to miss a single moment of its beauty.
I posed like a model, silently praying that exploring Jamaica would become my full-time joy sooner than I imagine.
I climbed the waterfall, swam in its refreshing waters, laid on the rocks, and took even more photos.
The setting was perfect—ferns, coconut trees, and sunlight creating a dreamlike backdrop.
Once satisfied with all the pictures and videos I captured, I brewed myself a soothing cup of tea before diving into preparing my colorful dish.
I prepared a colorful stir-fried quinoa bursting with vibrant, fresh ingredients: hearty portobello mushrooms, tri-colored bell peppers, purple onions, crisp okra, crunchy carrots, juicy cherry tomatoes, refreshing cucumber, broccoli florets, tender Brussels sprouts, spring onions, and nutrient-rich sea moss.
The quinoa, cooked gently in creamy coconut milk.
It was beautifully complemented by sweet fried plantains and fresh, crisp lettuce.
Every step of the preparation brought me joy. Cooking solo in the heart of nature, with the sound of the waterfall as background music—I was completely in my element. I needed no one but nature.
Once the meal was ready, I feasted like royalty. I ate slowly, savoring every bite, soaking in the beauty and peace around me. After relaxing for a bit, I packed up my things, said my thanks to nature for keeping me company, and began my journey home.
White Spring will always have a piece of my heart. It’s remote, wild, and absolutely breathtaking. But it’s not for the faint of heart.
So I have to ask—would you travel solo to a hidden gem like this? I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments below.
Until next time—see you on the next adventure!
