‘My favourite places on earth are the wild waterways where the forest opens its arms and a silver curve of river folds the traveller into its embrace’. Rory MacLean
This is my second time visiting Blue Hole in St Ann but it was Picksley’s first visit. After seeing how spectacular it was I had to return. On September 26, 2017, I hopped on a bus from Kingston to Ocho Rios with my day one supporter. I was excited to share this adventure with him.
We took a taxi from the bus park in Ocho Rios. But if you are driving, Go east towards the parish of St. Mary. Go right at the stoplight, which will take you to Exchange Road. When you reach the gas station, keep left. Pass the Sandals Golf Course. Continue driving until you reach a small town square. You will see a road sign that says Thatch Hill Main Road On the left-hand side. Drive until you see a JPS power station along the Thatch Hill Main Road. You will then turn right on a dirt road and drive for about five minutes. You will see vendor stalls and a marl parking lot. You have reached Blue Hole.
This gem is definitely the spot to rewind, rejuvenate and have plenty of fun.
If you don’t want to take part in the activities like swimming, hiking to the fall, mud bath etc. you can just enjoy the beauty of mother nature and be entertain by visitors and tour guides has they jump from a Tarzan rope into the great blue water bounded by an abundance of plant life.
Tell me about your experience at Blue Hole in St Ann!
