“TO TRAVEL IS TO LIVE” ~ HANS CHRISTIAN ANDERSON
I’ve been to Gordon Town on a few occasions to visit Penfield Waterfall but I've never been able to capture the journey so I return with my brother.
This is one of my earlier adventures and where naturessweetescapes all started.
My brother Andrew and I took a JUTC bus to Paine costing JMD 100.00 per person.
This is one of my earlier adventures and where naturessweetescapes all started.
Then when took a taxi in Papine Square at the Texaco Gas Station behind UTECH. You will hear the taxi drivers shouting “Penfield”
The drive to the Penfield Community was rough most of the journey. We were driving on a dirt road. We paid JMD 100.00 each.
We got a stop at the last point where the taxi returns to Papine. This area is called Penfield Square. We saw bars, shops while we walk to the hidden waterfall.
There is little space for parking so arrive early. We hiked for about fifteen minutes because we stopped to take pictures at the many scenic spots we saw along the way.
We continued on the path to our left. We passed a Rasta Shop and crossed two bridges.
We passed multiple natural swimming pools and a church.
A few minutes late, we saw natures gift the hidden gem in the Penfield Community.
We had the freezing water to ourselves. My brother had a blast. I just took a few pictures in the water and hurried out.
We saw two waterfalls but we spent most of our time at the first waterfall.
We had a great day even though the water was freezing cold.
Have you ever been to Penfield Waterfall? Which waterfall you explored for the first time? I'm dying to hear!
