Things to know about Frenchman's Cove
“Travel…the best way to be lost and found at the same time.” ~Brenna Smith
Unquestionably, Frenchman’s Cove is fantastic beautiful. It’s the perfect reason for me to go back. There are countless places that I have visited that are stunning and leave me tongue-tied exactly like Frenchman’s Cove. Let’s get off track for a bit. Kwame Falls was one of those places that I have visited that gave me a touch of its beauty and left me wanting more.
I have a massive amount of love for places that I have been to regularly. It’s like I can’t stay away. I want to know these fantastic places on an intimate level.
Frenchman's Cove is located in Port Antonio. It was named after an old folk story. Soldiers were wounded and solicited sanctuary when the British conquered the French. It has been featured in a movie called “Knight and Day,” starring Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz. Also, It has been named one of the most beautiful beaches in the world by Conde Nast Traveler, and Luxury Travel magazine.
The cost I paid to access the beach was JMD 800. I walked the ground for about an hour taking pictures. I was amazed by its beauty. This stunning beach where the river cascades through the ocean make this beach exceptional. The sand is white and soft, thus making it easy on my feet.
A rope hangs down from a tree where the stream meets the sea, which excites me into taking a swing. I took advantage of the cool refreshing running stream and the warmth of the Caribbean Sea by swimming and engaging myself in the relaxing atmosphere of the cove.
You can have a meal or cocktail at the restaurant. Also, there is a small rental cost for lounge chairs and dining tables and chairs.
Have you ever been to Frenchman's Cove? Did you like the swing? Where’s your best destination? Share!
